Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora or sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers as well as the press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's most notable covers. Katy Perry's endorsement of her hit song Runaway in a blog post earned the artist additional acknowledgement. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano at her loft, where she was amazed by its sound. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a hobby, but to grow. In order to do so she began to write original compositions. Her sources include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her attraction to Bjork's style. Her mother had told her that her music could assist her in gaining recognition, but also let everyone else see their value on the planet and realise what can be done with them, she decided to make a public debut. Her first piano lesson was when she was only six and started writing songs by the time she was nine. Family members didn't even know about her musical talents until she turned 14. She never had a desire to become Aurora. Aurora claims she loves making music. For her, music is the best way to feel anything.
